Hi everyone, Im new here and have a question already... Im not incredibly mechanically inclined, but I know my way around a garage--in this case, I need help. I had my front left wheel bearing replaced today and was very surprised to find that a small piece of my outer axle spindle (i dont even know if thats what its really called) had broken off. I know nothing much when it comes to axles, so will this affect any driving performance? Should I replace it? The part is only $177 and would possibly need a new ujoint---is it worth it? BTW, its on a '98 Grand Cherokee, stock axle with 3.77s. Thanks for any help! Heres a pic of the piece that broke off:

People have a tendency to tell me I am always wrong, but I would say that the small difference in pressure may cause uneven forces to be exherted on your axle. Potentially it could cuz a vibration in your axle and wear out your seals or worse. Is this going to happen overnight? No. But I wouldnt drive it myself.
